⸻ Dear Selection Committee, It is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Dr. Joshua Greenstein for the Truly Leadership Award. Throughout his career, Dr. Greenstein has exemplified exceptional leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence that have profoundly shaped our Emergency Department and strengthened the community of people within it. From the outset of his career, Dr. Greenstein demonstrated natural leadership ability. Serving first as Chief Resident, he went on to become Division Leader of Emergency Medicine Ultrasound, a leader in the Department’s Research Division, and now serves as Associate Chair of the Emergency Department. Achieving these milestones in less than 15 years is remarkable in a field where many physicians spend decades striving for such accomplishments. His drive, organization, and ability to inspire others set him apart as a true leader. Dr. Greenstein’s success is rooted in his extraordinary attention to detail. He applies the same precision to departmental operations that he brings to patient care. As the individual overseeing all departmental schedules — from residents to physician assistants to attending physicians — Dr. Greenstein ensures that every shift is covered efficiently and seamlessly. Under his leadership, the Emergency Department has achieved its most coordinated and effective staffing in over 30 years, improving both patient care and staff satisfaction, as well as our most successful department metrics. Equally important is Dr. Greenstein’s dedication to employee wellness. He makes it a priority to ensure that every team member feels supported, heard, and respected. He not only strives to make schedules fair and manageable but also ensures that staffing levels relieve the stress often caused by overcrowding. Dr. Greenstein listens carefully to the concerns and suggestions of his colleagues and incorporates their feedback into meaningful changes. His openness and inclusivity have fostered a work environment where every voice matters and where collaboration and morale thrive. Dr. Greenstein’s leadership style blends strategic vision with compassion and humility.
