Read more about this physician's nomination story*:
While working with Dr. Wolfe, he has continuously recognized and uplifted team members from all aspects of our division — from admin to nursing to providers — fostering growth and new and greater opportunities to expand upon as our division continues to grow. I myself came from a non-healthcare background but a passion for healthcare, and Dr. Wolfe took a chance to not only teach me about the division, but foster my growth in this division. He has done so for other admin staff, implementing a ANM for the outpatient sector of our clinic which has not only alleviated staffing amongst MOAs, but empowered them to be even better than who they are already are with the population we serve. The ANM has truly streamlined the process in the outpatient sector and improved patient t experience, thanks to Dr. Wolfe’s implementation. Though Dr. Wolfe is a pediatric hematologist oncologist, he has truly built upon the importance of iron deficiency and anemia in the young population we serve, taking on and granting confidence to his nurse practitioners who help see our growing IDA population as we not only treat the problem, but investigate the source, provide nutritional education, provide support and reassurance for families who may be tearful that their child might need intravenous iron versus oral iron. Every step and concern of the way, Dr. Wolfe and his NPs take care of each and every single patient. Dr. Wolfe stresses not only the patient experience in treatment that can make the patient feel better, but work on and implementing protocols to ensure greater safety for our population. Tracking and preventing PIVIEs, CLABSIs, falls, line infiltrations include some of his work, but including sepsis huddles and time outs for our population, increasing screening and monitoring for our patients, has decreased the amount of days a patient is in the hospital .
