I have only worked with Dr. Pilchard for a few years, but she is the most caring physician I have ever worked with and I have been working with many doctors for 25 years, she knows how to connect with her patients, and her patients love her, when the patients are checking out with me, they are always telling me how wonderful she is, how she really listens to them, and how they wish there were more doctors with her caring disposition. She takes her time with each patient she comes in contact with, and her patients that are waiting to see her know that she takes as much time as she needs with each of them, which gives them a sense of trust. We have had cancer patients coming in with a cancer diagnosis and they are so nervous , I usually tell them that they are in good hands, Dr. Pilchard will make you feel at ease, you are going to love her, and when she walks them up to check out, they tell me, I was right and are very happy they met with her. Patients also love that she is available to them, if they call her with a question, she will be the one to call them back most times, and the patients love that. Dr. Pilchard is always smiling even if a patient comes in and has not had a great day, she knows how to talk to them to get them to open up to her, so they leave with a smile on their face. Dr. Pilchard has this amazing ability to turn someone's day around to make them feel seen, valued and cared for, which is an amazing thing when they are in the office feeling in pain or uncomfortable, most times. She calls her patients herself with their results after their procedure and goes over next steps, she also will have patients come in if they have an immediate concern, even days when she is in doing procedures and doesn't have office hours, she makes time for her patients, she even has at times double and triple booked herself in the office, so that patients don't have to wait for her when they are feeling uncomfortable. I have also had the pleasure of hearing her interactions with her and her students, that come through the office and hear her asking them questions and laughing or even talking about what they did the over the weekend, making them feel comfortable with her, I couldn't think of a better teacher. I have told patients I feel lucky to work with her, she is very approachable, and a pleasure to work with. We have a very good working relationship. Dr. Pilchard is an amazing coworker and an even more amazing doctor; you can see it in her day-to-day interactions with everyone she comes in contact with. caring, compassionate, and she truly deserves to be recognized for it.
